The new season begins with a change of procedures in TMZ (Transponder Mandandory Zone) areas. According to the previous regulation, a transponder had to be carried along and coded on code 7000.

A new addition is the radio readiness on radio. According to information from the Federal Committee on Lower Airspace (BAUL) this radio capability is to be signaled with a corresponding Squawk code. These will be published in the DFS ICAO aeronautical charts available from March. The expansions of the individual TMZs remain unchanged.

In practice, this does not mean the release of the corresponding transponder code and monitoring on the published "Listening Squawk" frequency.
